I also try to do my best, we've recently changed to bio degradeble detergents. I thought it was going to be more expensive but on the contarary! We use only 1 product for everything from cleaning table tops to toilets, we're saving so much.It actually works better than all the stuff we bought in the past. We've also changed our washing powder and it's even better for the machine, so much softer on the rubbers. Had to clean the machine out first, our normal washing powders leaves so much residue. Very Happy

My toddler's pre school collect, every Tuesday, all the used cardboard boxes like toothpaste boxes, toilet rolls, cereal boxes... etc
The kids make all sorts of things out of them, so guess that's my bit for recycling.
I also put out all my old newspapers ever Saturday morning for the Mondi truck to collect too, it's a great help........ Rolling Eyes

Knippie! Please can you tell us what are the product names of the detergents you have found? Are they readily available?

Gumtree! Are names allowed to be published?

Thanks!

I've been using cloth nappies called baby genius for 15moths now. Brilliant! Makes me feel good everytime I change her nappy. A bit smelly with all the dirty nappies but its worth it.

Also leave out recyables for Mr recycle every tuesday. I seperate everything( thats the part I love the most) don't ask me why.

I built a worm farm for myself after several attempts failed. Now it works wonderfully. Once they got settled, it was munch munch munch. In the beginning one really has to make sure that they are comfortable and have enough air and drainage and a good bedding. And not piling them up with food at first. But letting them go through it in their own time. All our food waste goes in there, with exceptions ofcourse.

Also have a compost cooking. If the worm farm is full the I just throw food waste in the compost. Its a long cooking one so I don't worry too much about turning etc.

All our glass bottles we re-use for storing our rice and cereals. We reuse milk containers and buy those plastic ones instead. (and their cheaper) Paper we use as kindling or if we have excess, I just feed my worms or use as their bedding. They love it. I tried mulching with it, but it blew away.

So much more but thats all for now. Very Happy
