I think the design & style is quite funky. Needs getting used to, but I am sure it will grow on its users.
Good luck Wink

The old site was basic and very functional.

The worst part is the new “blank” images, if there is no image do not display and image! It just takes up space and makes the site look lumpy.

I do like the larger images on the ads that do have images.

Same problem as buddy20, can't specify price, cars over R35k appear in under R35k category, silly prices, stupid advertising on all pages.

The searching functionality is bad guys!!! This is time wasting & frustrating when looking for a vehicle in a specific price range. Please do something about this! Mad

I think you forgot the repost function. If we have not had success with an ad and want it to appear on the current days listing, we used to repost using the ad ID. This function is no longet there. Editing an ad just keeps the old listing date.

Could you please reinstate this useful feature?

I've been trying to search for accommodation on the new site and have found it to be much more difficult. I am unable to search for a price range, differentiate between a flat, house, and townhouse, tell where it is located, or if the price is per week or month. Sad The pictures and larger ads also make it difficult to look at several postings at once. Please bring back the search options!

I fully agree.

It isnt easy, or as straightforward, as it should be.

It almost feels as if instead of going forwards, Gumtree has taken a slip backwards... Confused

Hi,
I received an email from gumtree (as usual) telling me that my advert is 7 days old and if I click on the link I can bump it up to the top of the list.

When I click on the link I get "This Ad cannot be reposted so soon. An Ad can only be reposted if it is within a few days of its Expiration date".

How long before it expires? Please fix it.

Not as user friendly as the old site.
We've lost a whole lot of functionality that was there before?

I think it's very good to not be able to repost anymore.. It will be much more time demanding for spammer to pollute this site just by clicking a button...

There is so much ads we see weeks after weeks, after weeks...

Just my opinion Wink

Well shucks, I think the new site is awesome. The old site was cumbersome and slow. No ways was it more intuitive or easy to use as the new site. Just my opinion!

Looks like some of you have hit against one or two bugs - don't worry, that's easily fixable.

Great job, Gumtree. I think I just heard Capeads being flushed...

P.S. I agree with Ogu about the ad photos.

I'm sorry but the updated Gumtree sucks & will always suck with such an interface.

The old Gumtree was very professional, fast and easy on the eye with items for sale only listed in text and easy to read. If one was interested in a specific item you only had to right-click and open it in another tab or window to get more specific info.

Now you are forced to view unnecessary pictures & empty picture frames. This is completely unnecessary and annoying and should be best left for a second-tier window.

I personally think that it is just a sly move by the owners to gradually move from a once fast community based website to just another commercial pay site much like the extremely irritating Cape Ads Online to which I once subscribed before it went from fast text based ads to forced picture crazy garbage.

Then its Goodbye!

Always remember what it was that drew people to your website in the first place that made it popular.
