Any progress?
It is ironic that most countries elect presidents WELL over 50, trusting them with the destiny of millions of people, but the business world prefers youth.Theargument that we are "short term" investments is ridiculous. Nothing stops younger people from jumping jobs to increase their income, and all their university degrees do not equip them with the work experience and wisdoom that come with age. But....... ...

FANtastic idea. My husband is also looking for a job, local or international, and will support you. He is a young 57, full of life and so bored. Did work in Liberia for 4 months but is back and there is nothing for older people here in SA. I'm sure there must be companies that will rather take on older people than these young ones who's only after THE SALARY, CAR and GRAND CELLPHONES. Keep us posted.

... maybe even get the savvy to start an agency for temp employment over 45s only... pool your resources and you got the making of a business.. but, alas, it would seem the golf game has claimed you.... .. you need a caddy?

This is a great idea, I am over 50 and have been battling to find work for a looooong time.

...there are those who have the business savvy to set up a uniquely over 50 job market.. I mean the services that all can offer.. without the need to set up a factory or even an office... just all those who have the know how.. I see there are job sites where people bid on jobs... maybe the archetypical version of business should be given a break.. and think of it as a decentralised workforce.. in every sphere of life.. in fact the over-50s are hyper capable and the only stumbling block is setting up a network.. virtual if must be... where are all you business minds... ??? Put away your golfsticks for a minute Palace1... and the rest of you ... whatever you got there.. and stop wishing.. make it happen... after all with age comes wisdom.. even if it is offering youth in various fields the benefits of your experience.. overcharging is not the game.. the more the services are used and benefitted from .. the more the idea will grow... and hopefully everyones financial status ... just my 2 c worth..
