|
|
| Hi, I don't know if anyone can help me. My dad is 68 years old and has been retired for a few years. He doesn't have any particular skills or hobbies but would like something to do with his time. If it can earn him money, even if its only a small amount then that would be a plus, but otherwise anything to give him a bit of purpose. He lives on the East Rand in Gauteng so preferably something around that area. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions!! |

| Look at selling sweets, chips ice cream at the primary schools around your area. You can buy him the stuff as a start and from there he sells it, With the profit he can buy other stock and sell it again. Thus making money. This will keep him busy for a few hours a day |

Hi there,
Tell him to try breeding birds.
I am retired and 2 years ago my daughter bought me a breeding pair of birds.
I have so enjoyed it. I take the babies from the nest at 2 to 3 weeks and handrear them.
I have made a little bit of money and invested it in more breeding pairs,
I now have a waiting list of buyers for next breeding season.
It is not hard work unless you have a lot of aviaries. I have even kept a few for my own personal pets.
It is so rewarding and getting to know the natures of these beautifull birds is so fullfilling.
Check out my advert BEST BIRDS. |

| Don't think the selling sweets, chips & ice cream to primary school children is such a good idea. Most schools have tuck shops were children can get these items. The schools would probably not allow him to sell inside the school grounds so he would have to stand outside the gates to "peddle his wares". This could be problematic for him. Most mothers collect or have someone collect young children form school these days for safety reasons. Imagine if some mothers, seeing an elderly man selling sweets to their children, set upon him with their handbags or, worse still, called the police to have him arrested as a possible paedophile. In this day and age this is a very real fear for mothers of small children. |

|
|
| He could always join the film industry and be an extra, there are several agency's around and they pay around 250 for a local soapy up to 900 + for adverts, this normally includes breakfast and lunch depending on how long you are on set. All ages and sizes are required. And it lots of fun, also away of meeting people. |

Hi
If you set your dad up with a Paypal account he could do all us foreigners a favour by going to see that the apartments we want to book online exist. Perhaps Gumtree could give him the appropriate authorisation to act in this capacity. It would certainly work for me.
Good luck. |

| My dad is about the same age as yours and will also start to retire soon. He is calculating his retirability and hopes that he can stop working in 2010. He has a lot of hobbies: fishing, hiking, dancing or coin collecting. I can't imagine that your dad has no hobbies or interests. Just ask him what he would like to do or try something - take him to sports events or fairs or whatever ... I am convinced that you'll find something that enriches his life. |

I found that out the hard way. I do internet marketing and thought I could use Paypal to receive funds. PayPal confirmed this fact to me. You can send money but can't receive any in South Africa. |

He takes all the time to spell out his whole sales blurp and actually posts in three different topics....
then...
he gives his email address so you must mail him to get the website address of this wonderful recurring income.. ..
that comes at a MINIMAL outlay.....
truly amazing......
why not just post the fricken !!!!! website if it is all above board???
I rest my case. |

| I am not sure how active you dad is but Estate Agents are always looking for reliable people to look after show houses for them usually on Sundays. |
